Statement from Congressman Dan Donovan on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Appearance before Donovan’s Subcommittee
On March 15, 2016, Congressman Donovan – Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications – will hold a hearing on the impact of President Obama’s proposed homeland security funding cuts.
Mayor Bill de Blasio will testify.
“Nothing – especially not partisan politics – should stand in the way of defending against terror attacks. Congressional bipartisanship prevailed in our fight to provide 9/11 first responders with health care and screenings. I expect a similar display of cooperation in ensuring vulnerable cities get the security resources they need. Mayor de Blasio runs the city that is the world’s top terror target, and I look forward to hearing his testimony.”
