Statement from Congressman Dan Donovan on the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA)
“I’m thrilled that the House will consider JASTA – 9/11 families deserve their day in court. American victims of terror and their families come first, period. Several widows in my district shared with me deeply personal and emotional letters in support of JASTA which I gave to House leadership, and I’m honored to be able to share today’s news with them. Speaker Ryan and Chairman Goodlatte have consistently done right by 9/11 victims, and I thank them and my good friend Rep. Peter King for their work. I hope President Obama has the conviction to do right by 9/11 families and sign this legislation into law.”
